The U.S. dairy industry is lobbying to get whole milk in schools again. The Whole Milk for Healthy Kids bill would reverse the school dietary guidelines from the Obama administration, allowing 2% milk into school meals. House Agriculture Committee Chairman GT Thompson is championing the bill alongside the American Dairy Coalition.

The legislation currently has 125 bipartisan co-sponsors from 44 states. But that’s not enough to get the bill passed. A total of 218 votes are needed. The American Dairy Coalition is urging dairy producers to call their legislators and advocate for the passage of the Whole Milk legislation.
