In addition to passing a farm bill extension through September 30, 2025, Congress passed the American Relief Act of 2025. It includes $9.8 billion in market relief for 20 covered crops.

An analysis by the Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute estimates corn, soybeans and wheat will make up 80% of the total payments. Distribution of the funds by crop are projected at:

  • $3.829 billion for corn
  • $2.553 billion for soybeans
  • $1.532 billion for wheat
  • $975 million for cotton
  • $248 million for Sorghum
  • $216 million for Rice

Per projected payment rates by crop include:

  • Cotton at $87.26
  • Corn at $42.51
  • Soybeans at $29.50
  • Wheat at $30.69
  • Sorghum at $42.58
  • Oats at $77.66
  • Peanuts at $76.30
  • Rice at $69.52
  • Barley at $21.76

The USDA must distribute the funds within 90 days of the bill becoming law.
