New rosters of leaders are taking shape in the transition team at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the office of the U.S. Trade Representatives (USTR). Thus far, it’s an experienced group; former USDA Undersecretary for Natural Resources and Environment Robert Bonnie, who served under Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack from 2009 to 2013, leads the new transition team appointments. The group of appointments announced this week includes ag policy and law expert and University of Illinois professor Jonathan Coppess, who also served under Vilsack as USDA-FSA administrator, and former USDA-APHIS Administrator and Assistant Ag Secretary Gregory Parham.
