Trade Policy Manager Tony Rice of the National Milk Producers Federation says dairy exports this year are lower than in 2022. He says weaker global demand and a strong global supply are the causes. Even so, the National Milk Producers Federation and the U.S. Dairy Export Council are moving toward boosting exports by continuing to challenge nontariff barriers in target markets.

The organizations have forged strong ties and new partnerships in regions such as the U.K., China, Thailand, the Philippines and Taiwan to promote U.S. dairy. The groups also plan to keep combatting efforts to thwart trade or not fulfill the complete requirements outlined in trade agreements.
