ProAg news featuring USDASouth Dakota Trade President and CEO Luke Lindberg was named undersecretary for trade and foreign affairs. If confirmed, he will replace Alexis Taylor, who is headed to the International Fresh Produce Association to serve as chief global policy officer.

Missouri farmer Richard Fordyce has been chosen as undersecretary for farm production and conservation. He would oversee the Farm Service Agency (FSA), the Risk Management Agency (RMA) and the Natural Resources Conservation Service. Fordyce is a fourth-generation farmer who served as FSA administrator in the first Trump administration.

Dudley Hoskins has been chosen as undersecretary for regulatory and marketing programs. He would oversee the USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service and the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service. He has previously served as public policy counsel for the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture.

Idaho businessman Michael Boren has been selected as the undersecretary for natural resources and the environment. In this role, he would oversee the Forest Service.

The American Soybean Association said it applauds the nominations and looks forward to working with the new leaders.
