The most recent USDA Crop Progress Report shows a decline in conditions. Currently, 72% of corn is in good/excellent condition. This compares to 74% in the prior week. Twenty-three percent of the crop was in fair condition and 5% was in poor/very poor condition. This is the second consecutive week to report declines in the condition of the corn crop.

As of June 16, 93% of corn has emerged in the top 18 growing states. This is slightly ahead of the five-year average of 92%.

The USDA reports that 93% of soybeans have been planted in the top 18 growing states. This is up from 87%the previous week and ahead of the five-year average of 91%. Eighty-two percent of the crop in these states is out of the ground. Currently, 70% of the crop is rated in good/excellent condition, with 25% in fair condition and 5% in poor/very poor condition.
