Valencia orangesThe USDA’s latest citrus forecast predicts a slight increase in Valencia orange production in Florida. The report estimates 18 million boxes of oranges for the 2023-2024 season. This includes 6.76 million boxes of non-Valencia oranges, which is unchanged from the June forecast. This includes early, mid-season and Navel varieties.

The anticipated 11.2 million boxes of Valencia oranges is an increase of 100,000 boxes from June’s estimate.

Grapefruit production is forecast at 1.79 million boxes, with 240,000 white grapefruit and 1.55 million red grapefruit. The Florida forecast for tangerine and tangelo remains unchanged at 450,000 boxes.
