Rod Snyder is stepping down as EPA’s top adviser on Wednesday. He referred to the position as the “honor of my career.” Synder was appointed the first director of EPA’s agricultural and rural affairs office in October 2021. He expressed confidence that the agency’s new Office of Agriculture and Rural Affairs will continue into the next administration.

EPA Administrator Michael Regan issued a statement that farmers will always have a seat at EPA’a table due to Synder’s efforts. Prior to his EPA appointment, Snyder was president of Field to Market: The Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture from 2014 to 2021. Before that, he was public policy director for the National Corn Growers Association and government affairs leader for CropLife America.
