ButcherOctober U.S. pork shipments climbed to 572.2 million pounds, 11% higher than September and 5.7% higher than last year. This marks the second-highest amount for October pork exports, behind 2020. Pork shipments up through October totaled 5.56 billion pounds, 6.9% higher than last year thanks to large purchases from Mexico.

Meanwhile, U.S. beef exports totaled 241.5 million pounds in October, up 4.3% from September and lower by a whopping 20.5% from 2022. Beef exports for 2023 so far trail last year by 14.9% at 2.556 billion pounds, again led by Mexico.
