The National Corn Growers Association’s (NCGA’s) 2025 Corn Competitiveness Report aims to help the Trump administration and the new Congress improve the economic outlook for producers. Corn growers are facing a third year of negative returns in 2025.

According to the report, the U.S. grows about one-third of the world’s corn. However, burdensome regulations and outdated policies make market access challenging. This results in high costs and low market prices.

According to the report, the administration and lawmakers should concentrate on six items:

  • Increase global market access for U.S. corn
  • Expand the use of U.S. corn in ethanol
  • Strengthen farm risk management
  • Preserve the American farm family legacy and farmland access
  • Protect access to agricultural innovations
  • Promote the use of U.S. corn in American products

The report’s recommendations are intended to boost the economy and ensure U.S. corn growers are competitive worldwide.
