The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported ethanol production hit its lowest point in the last three months during the week of Sept. 13. However, ethanol inventories slightly increased during the same period.

The difference came from a production decrease in the Midwest, where daily production outputs dropped from 1.019 million barrels to 986,000. That’s roughly 33,000 fewer barrels produced each day.

Other regions, including the Rocky Mountains, the East Coast, and the West Coast, had no change in production during the same time. Additionally, Gulf Coast daily production rose to 28,000 barrels.
