Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson announced that farmers, ranchers and growers affected by the recent winter storm can now apply for interest-free loans through the Agriculture and Aquaculture Producers Natural Disaster Recovery Loan Program. Up to $500,000 can be used to restore, repair or replace essential physical property such as fences, equipment and buildings. Funds can also be used to remove debris.

Simpson emphasized the importance of delivering immediate support to producers impacted by the recent storm. He promised to advocate for additional funding in the upcoming legislative session. The storm caused hard freezes and record snowfall, primarily in North Florida.

Affected producers are encouraged to document property damage with photos and keep receipts for recovery expenses. Further details on the application process are available on the program’s webpage.

Producers who received funds for damages sustained from recent hurricanes may be eligible to apply for damage sustained from this disaster.
