In 2025, USDA analysts expect grocery store prices to rise 0.7%, according to their monthly Food Price Outlook report. If inflation stays on track with these estimates, it will be the lowest increase in seven years. In 2024, rates increased by 1%. The long-term average is 2.7%.

Analysts expect meat prices to increase by 2.9%. Even so, the lower-than-average rate increase reflects decelerating food prices. The USDA anticipates fresh produce prices will drop compared to 2024.
