According to the man behind Machinery Pete, farmers could have a chance to score a deal on equipment in the new year. Machinery Pete Founder Greg Henderson noted more late-model equipment has gone to auction in recent years, reflecting the need for dealers to get equipment off the lot. Henderson says this situation — while not ideal for the dealer — could give farmers an advantage.

However, he says timing is essential. Henderson believes once that equipment is gone, prices for new models will be even higher. That means interested parties may need to act fast to get a deal.
