More U.S. consumers are choosing to eat more diverse diets. While health trends ebb and flow each year, recent years have shown a move toward more wholesome food choices. Consumers are more aware than ever of what they put in their bodies and choose more “immune boosting” foods and cut out more fat and calories than ever before. Healthful snacking has consumers looking for lower sugar and more vegetables and seed oils.

The trend of heightened intentionality regarding food creates both challenges and opportunities. Regenerative agriculture can certainly take the spotlight with its emphasis on sustainable growing. Marie Molde of “The Food Institute” podcast says consumers conflate nutrition and sustainability, with more considering planetary health outside of personal health.
