On Friday, the Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act was introduced to the U.S. House. If passed, this bill would enable E15 fuel sales year-round. With an excess corn supply, lawmakers and industry leaders expressed their optimism toward a long-term E15 solution.

Kelly Nieuwenhuis, board member for the National Corn Growers Association commented:

“We’re hoping we can move the needle and get this year-round E15. This is something we’ve been working on for 10 years now. It’s time to get it across the finish line.”

The bill was co-authored by Representatives Adrian Smith (R-NE), Angie Craig (D-MN), Dusty Johnson (R-SD), Nikki Budzinski (D-IL), Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA), and Sharice Davids (D-KS), along with 29 additional co-sponsors.
