The USDA’s latest crop progress report indicated that 91% of the winter wheat was planted and 76% emerged as of November 10. Winter wheat quality ratings continued to rise. The ratings improved three points during the past week with 44% of the crop in good-to-excellent condition and 38% rated fair. The remaining 18% rated poor or very poor.

Corn and soybeans are crossing the finish line, with 95% of the corn harvested and 96% of soybeans harvested through November 10. This is ahead of the five-year average of 84% for corn and 91% for soybeans.

Other fall harvest progress includes:

  • Sunflowers at 81%
  • Sugarbeets at 97%
  • Sorghum at 91%
  • Peanuts at 82%
  • Cotton at 71%
