Vermont dairy farmer Elle Purrier St. Pierre will represent the United States in the 5,000-meter run at the 2024 Paris Olympics. This is her second Olympics. Elle finished 10th in the 1,500-meter run at the 2020 Games in Japan.

The first round of the women’s 5,000-meter run will take place on August 2. Elle Purrier St. Pierre is currently ranked 9th in the world for the 5,000-meter run and is the highest-ranked American. She is an 11-time All-American and won the NCAA indoor national championships in 2018.

Elle grew up on a Vermont dairy farm near Montgomery, Vermont. She is involved with husband Jamie St. Pierre’s family-run dairy near Richford and Berkshire. The Pleasant Valley Farms dairy has 3,000-plus cows and milks cows on three separate sites. It is the biggest family-owned dairy in Vermont.
