The USDA released its most recent Crop Progress report on July 22. According to the agency, corn in the good/excellent condition category dropped one percentage point (from 68% to 67%). The poor/very poor category increased by one percentage point (from 9% to 10%) in the same period. The report also indicated that 60% of the crop in the top 18 corn-producing states has reached the silk growth stage.
