Corn TasselingThe USDA’s fifth crop report of 2024 indicates 24% of the corn crop is silking across the top 18 growing states. This is 14% ahead of the five-year average. Three percent of the corn in these states has reached the dough stage. This is 3% ahead of the five-year average.

As of June 30, 67% of the corn in the top 18 growing states is in good/excellent condition, 24 % is in fair condition and 9% is in poor or very poor condition. The USDA reports that 34% of soybeans are blooming in the top 18 growing states. That’s up from 20% in the previous week and 28% ahead of the five-year average.

As of June 30, 67% of the soybeans in the top 18 growing states were in good/excellent condition, 25% were in fair condition and 8% were in poor or very poor condition.
