The House Agriculture Committee has released its highly anticipated ag labor report. The bipartisan Agricultural Working Group has recommended the creation of a single port for H-2A applications and allowing H-2A employers to submit staggered date-of-entry applications. The recommendation also advocates for creating better efficiencies for the current H-2A recruiting and hiring process and expediting reviews of delayed H-2A applications.

The group also proposed new heat standards for workers and adjusting wages. Agriculture Committee Chair GT Thompson says he hopes the report can serve as a roadmap for legislative solutions to protect workers and address the ongoing labor crisis.
