The approval which will allow eight Midwestern states to sell year-round E15, an effort that has taken nearly two years. In Iowa and Nebraska the attorneys general sued the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for not sending the rule to OMB for the final review process. The final ruling could take place in January, with the completion of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) final review. American Coalition for Ethanol CEO Brian Jennings says the OMB generally takes 30 days for final review. Ethanol groups are urging OMB to issue the final review as soon as possible in 2024 so fuel retailers and other market participants can plan accordingly.
