In October, the Panama Canal experienced the lowest amount of rainfall in seven years. The dry conditions continue to present challenges for nearly every industry, including agriculture, due to limited shipping capacity. Current projections estimate the canal will only be able to move 18 ships through daily by February. This is about half of the canal’s average capacity.
