With USDA’s recent bolster of total U.S. corn acres, Brazil could be unseated as the top exporter of corn. The acreage increase could help offset lower expected yields while surpassing Brazil’s smaller crop expected for 2023-2024. While Brazil will surpass the U.S. this marketing year, National Corn Growers Association Lead Economist Krista Swanson says it could be a short-lived lead. Current market conditions indicate both nations could lead on exports in the future.
