This week’s Crop Progress report from USDA shows 96% of all U.S. corn is planted, up 4% from last week and maintaining 5% ahead of the five-year average. Additionally, the agency pegs corn emergence at 85%, 13 points higher than last week and 8% higher than the five-year average. However, thanks to ongoing dry conditions throughout the Corn Belt, USDA rates 6% of emerged corn as poor/very poor, 1% higher than last week.
